What does Temper H14 / H24/ H44 mean?

1. "H" stands for "Strain-Hardened", where strength is obtained by cold work.

2. The first digit following an H indicates the specifi operations OR processes:

• H1 – Strain-Hardened only.
• H2 – Strain-Hardened and partially annealed.
• H3 – Strain-Hardened and stabilized.
• H4 – Strain-Hardened and lacquered or painted.

3. The second digit following an H indicates the degree of strain-hardening:

Like H x 1 signifies Eighth hard, H x 2 signifies Quarter hard, and H x 4 indicates Half hard
